You may not be able to help the elderly or critically ill every day-- well, now's your chance!
MSJ Interact is partnering with Project Open Hand, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing meals to clients who deal with serious illnesses, isolation, or health challenges of old age. It is based in San Francisco, and volunteers for Project Open Hand provide over 2,000 meals every day. It has a great impact on the community-- are you ready to help? There are TWO shifts available: Friday, April 18th (8:30am -12:30pm), and Saturday, April 26th ( 11:30 am-4:00pm), and you will be helping in the Grocery center and/or Kitchen. The shift will consist of an educational orientation and a complimentary lunch at the beginning of the shift. Volunteers preform a variety of tasks: sorting, bagging, culling food items, stocking Grocery Center shelves, shopping for clients, or assisting in the kitchen during special projects.
