District 5170, You are challenged by Area 5 to pursue the passion for service in all forms throughout the summer- from May 31st to September 1st, 2014! In the span of 3 months, we will complete 5,170 Acts of Service- whether they are big or small, they all count! It is up to your discretion on what you believe an act of service is, but for example purposes: volunteering, recycling, environmental cleanups, educating, etc,. Service can be found in all forms, but it is up to you on what you believe will count as one! Once you do find an act of service, make sure to take a picture and hashtag it with "#interactsos" on Instagram or Facebook! Service is universal and unique, it has no clear definition nor a solidified concept- the definition of service is never the same for anyone, nor is it limited to any one person. It changes with each individual that pursues it, whoever they may be. And for that very reason, service becomes an incredibly powerful aspect of human life- for it is everything you want, and more, all of it for the sake of those around you. Together, we will spearhead towards a future with the love of service flowing through our veins. With the roots of our existence hand in hand with our idealization of service, we will ensure that the world will have a tomorrow brighter than today. Interactors of District 5170 and beyond, do you accept this challenge to pursue a "SUMMER OF SERVICE"? LOGISTICS: -May 31st - September 1st -5,170 Acts of Service (whether they are big or small) -Take a picture of your service and use the hashtag #interactsos to record your participation on Instagram or Facebook! -Feel free to post multiple acts, or once a day- basically whenever and wherever you want to!
